Vivekananda Rock Memorial: Ferry Ride - Kanyakumari
Vivekananda Rock Memorial was built in 1970 in honour of Swami Vivekananda who is said to have attained enlightenment on the rock. Swami Vivekananda meditated on this small rock surface for 3 days. There is a beautifully built stone temple with a meditation hall and a Goddess Kanyakumari temple as well.
To reach here you need to take a ferry ride which will cost you ₹50 per person in a long queue, to skip queue you need to pay ₹200. The ferry ride was amazing, you can enjoy the breeze and vast expanse of ocean with different shades. Once you reach the rock, you need to buy an entry ticket which will cost you ₹20 per person. The view of the mainland and the ocean is so beautiful from here that you would not like to leave the place. To return back, go through the queue for ferry and it will drop you at the same location where picked up.
